StuROPx | Listening for Black Feminist Interventions
News from Apr 30, 2024
With a research grant from the Berlin University Alliance's Student Research Opportunities Programx (StuROPx), Layla Zami from poject B05 facilitates the interdisciplinary seminar Listening for Black Feminist Interventions at Freie Universität in the summer term of 2024. Students critically engage with the presence of Black women in the FU archive, as well as with contemporary Black Feminist archival interventions in Berlin. In the archival research, students will be encouraged to expand their sensory perception and to make space for other senses beyond the visual, such as hearing and feeling. They develop their own research projects in dialogue with Zami's research project at the CRC. The research outputs will be presented in creative formats on July 16 and 17 at the Uferstudios in Berlin upon invitation by artist Oxana Chi in the realm of her series Sichtbar Bleiben!.
