Lia Rodrigues is a Brazilian choreographer and Mercator-Fellow at CRC Intervening Arts. In this conversation, she talks about how aesthetic and social/political issues are inextricably intertwined in the work of her dance company, which is based in the Favela da Maré in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The choreographer approach some of the main ideas that guide the principles of reciprocity and relationality between her creative process and the environment.
